Race Area
Wind over shore. Good to have a look into the shore and see where it has easier time coming down. Also, based on my experience, if is very sunny, it gets pretty wild and you need to go for the big ones, sometimes ignoring the smaller flicks of the wind. The top mark was set at 95 degrees
Start
Heavily biased to the RC side. I could even move the wind more than this and the numbers would be even more extreme. Have some boats at the gun 70m downwind of the leader. Of course, the wind can shift back, I don’t know the wind numbers from before racing. The fact that the top mark is at 95 degrees and the wind is at the gun at 106, means that you really want to stay on starboard.
1st Upwind
The wind was only going to the left and the key was to stay on starboard tack for as much as possible. Sailing on starboard after the gun let almost straight to the top mark. So whatever happened next, this is the way to go. If wind stays, we are sailing longer leg first. If it goes more right, probably can sail straight to the top mark. If left, is a big gain.
Top Mark
Once the first upwind is so shifty, the good thing to know is that boats are much more separated and if you come to the mark on port, you still can easily jump in. Of course, if in the back, this might not be the best since offset boats are covering the left layline.

1st Downwind
Left wind on top and more right at the bottom. In between probably quite some shifts and gusts so every boat had it different. FOr example, Pie made it well with high sailing and Lisa did a good job by sailing low. Many options were available.
Gate Rounding
With the wind around 110 at the gate, in any other case, it would be left turn only, since bias was big. However, in the wind conditions like today, you need to think of wind shifting back and if you want to be on the gaining side of the next shift, you have to go left as soon as possible.
2nd Upwind
All together sailed in more right wind direction and was slightly skewed to the left. So you had to open it on starboard and later play the bigger left ones to cross. There is huge distance between the boats, so what was good for leaders, don’t need to be good for the boats behind. Of the boats in the pack, Plum and Exabyte had really good leg, mostly tacking through the middle.
2nd Downwind
Big stretch in the fleet, right wind, finish at the RC and is almost one way on port tack. Not much to be done, just a few passing possibilities. Tamm Ha Tamm with pretty solid performance, but then again they had enough space to go low alone.
