Sailing is a sport that requires focus, strategy, and technique. But how do you REALLY know if you’re making progress and improving your results?
That’s where SailViewer comes in. Designed to be user-friendly and efficient, this innovative app provides practical feedback in the shortest time possible, allowing sailors to catch the main points from each session on the water and make useful conclusions in just a few minutes.

Designed by sailors, for sailors

SailViewer was created by Ivan Bulaja, a successful competitive sailor and in-demand coach with a passion for sailing and technology.

After trying out other apps, Ivan saw a need for an easier and more accessible way to analyze sailing performance data. With his background in programming, he decided to create his own tool to make it quicker to extract data and get meaningful insights.

SailViewer is under continual development, with new features added on a regular basis, and is being used by Olympic teams around the world.

“Pure and simple insight into your logs. Getting all the needed answers fast…”

– Santiago Lange, Olympic Gold Medallist 🥇🇦🇷

HOW SAILVIEWER WORKS

📊 Track Your Performance Like the Pros

SailViewer allows you to assess your performance in just a few clicks, providing a comprehensive and accurate analysis of what happened – and when – during your time on the water.

💡 Useable Insights, Not Overwhelming Figures

After a long day on the water, the last thing you want to do is a deep-dive into the analytics. SailViewer filters out all the unnecessary information and quickly provides you with actionable data, so you can make measurable progress on the race track without feeling overwhelmed by endless numbers and figures.

🔍 Remove the Guesswork, Get the Facts

With detailed data on boat speed, manoeuvres, and other key performance indicators, you don’t have to guess what went right or wrong on the water. Get insight into key moments and catch the things you missed, in minutes.

🧠 Sail Smarter, Not Harder

SailViewer provides accurate and actionable data to help you make informed decisions and drive your performance forward. With data-driven insights, you can focus your efforts on the areas that will have the biggest impact on your results.

🏆 Optimise Your Training & Performance

SailViewer provides you with a quick and effective debrief after every time on the water, allowing you to track your progress and maximise your training sessions. The app is especially beneficial if you have limited training partners or resources, allowing you to pinpoint your weaknesses on the course and focus your efforts on areas that need improvement.

⚡ Effortless Feedback & Conclusions

SailViewer also makes it easy for coaches to provide clear and accurate feedback to their athletes after training. It allows coaches to send screenshots of key moments, so sailors can see where they need to improve. When you’re ready to debrief, the app provides all the information you need to make useful conclusions and sail faster the next time you’re on the water.

“SailViewer has been a huge asset to our team. Nowadays it’s possible to collect so much data on board but it has always taken many hours to get into the data and extract the answers we are looking for, or involved bringing in a specialist to process the data for us. SailViewer has been a game changer for us – we can upload our data files each day and get answers quickly in a user-friendly platform without having to be super tech-savvy sailors (I don’t even own a laptop).”

– John Gimson, Olympic Silver Medallist 🥈🇬🇧

Frequently Asked Questions

How is SailViewer different from other data-tracking apps?

SailViewer prioritises simplicity and efficiency above all else. With just a few clicks, you can access detailed debriefs, highlighting only the information that will really have an impact on your performance.

While other apps offer more complex features, the added complexity means that there can be a very steep learning curve. The amount of data displayed can be overwhelming, requiring a significant amount of time to import and analyse the readings, and sometimes even an extra tech person just to manage the data.

SailViewer is focused on delivering only the most relevant information, filtering out any excess data that may not be relevant to your performance. In fact, we’ve been told by some teams who use the more expensive solutions that they still rely on SailViewer for their debriefs due to its speed and efficiency!

In addition, SailViewer offers added flexibility and cost-effectiveness for fleets with multiple boats. Unlike other apps that limit usage to a single device and charge extra fees based on the number of boats being tracked, SailViewer allows you to track an unlimited number of boats without any additional fees, making it a more cost-effective solution for fleets.

What GPS tracking hardware works best with the app?

The app can work with GPS logs from any device, and we have found that Android phone logs are just as accurate as logs from other sources. While SailMon and Vakaros are considered to be the best GPS trackers, they are not necessary for the app’s needs.

What readings does the app display?
