Race Area

Start

Almost no bias, so it was all about starting close to the line with good speed.

Sorted by lead at one minute after the gun

1st Upwind

More stable wind compared to the race 1. Still some left shift and gain in general, with a bit of a right shift at the top. With boats so equal, it was crucial to get to the top mark in a good spot, not over the laylines. No Dramas and GWH used a nice lift to cross a bit earlier to the middle, GWH even more right where they got nice right shift. All the boats approaching the top from the left were in front, as long as they didn’t end up over the layline.

  1. best example how crowded lanes are slow
  2. GWH and No Drama with a nice cross to the right
  3. Left boats gaining on the way to the mark
  4. GWH with nice righty
  5. At the very top, greener for the boats approaching on starboard.
Straight line performance. No maneuvers and rounding. Sorted by VMG

Top Mark

Lots of boats with hard bearaways or even gybes. When race is so tight, there is bigger danger in approaching the top mark on port tack.

Top matk stats, 100m to and from the mark.

1st Downwind

In the front of the fleet, the first gain came from early gybe. Privateer getting the lead. At the end, being more on upwind left side paid, Pie and GWH gaining back. Tiger with the best performance in this leg.

Gate Rounding

Not so much bias, but a lot of boats on right turn went way too wide and have lost a lot.

50m to and from the mark. (all boats start and finish at the same height)

2nd Upwind

The wind went right and then at the end a bit back. Looks like the high lane to the left was the best option, using the right wind to full potential and then taking the left one to get to the mark. Racer and Pie with the best performance, high lane and then all the way to left layline.

Note, due to high offset mark, app has included it in upwind leg. Should not change the numbers much.
  1. Nice long green high lane to the left
  2. GWH crossing in pretty bad moment
Clean sailing, no maneuvers and rounding. Sorted by VMG

2nd Top Mark

2nd Downwind

Slightly skewed leg, due to the finish line located more at the RC side. And with such a breeze, you wanted to gybe soon, not to end up under the layline. Pie was snatcing the lead, but then run into some trouble.
