Back To All Races

Race Area

Almost parallel to the shore.

Start

Not the longest line, but still some significant enough bias. Gamecock and New Wave the closest to the line, with Gamecock equal to Defiant at the gun. Vigilant way back.

1st Upwind

Very close racing with the wind going a bit to the left. Boats catching up a bit on Defiant that was taking the lead after the start. Vigilant got some good meters at the end of starboard run, lifted quite a lot. Gamecock managed to gain some meters from leeward, going to the top mark, just making it inside.

Suggested wind direction. Always need to take some care that there are not many boats so can be a bit off.
Vigilant with bright green at the end of the starboard run. All sailing to the mark on starboard is red, due to the wind shifting left.

Top Mark

Not being early on the starboard layline helped Gamecock to jump in and take the lead. The boats that shoot the layline from far will always have a bit of extra safety and this usually allows the port tack boat to tack in (if there is enough space between the boats). Defiant seems to be going pretty high on the reach, doing extra meters.

1st Downwind

Gamecock has dropped the lead due to not the best first gybe. However, early gybe was the way to go and after even worse gybe by Defiant, has took the lead back and even increased it. Vigilant and New Wave losing quite some meters on the way to the gate, especially New Wave. At the gate, the suggested wind direction is at 165, so even more left than before. That could help Gamecock to win at the end, approaching the mark from right.

32m loss for Defiant, 22 for Gamecock in comparison to much lower numbers on some other gybes. Gamecock with nice fast starboard tack approach to the gate

Gate Rounding

Very similar rounding times. No gate bias noticed.

2nd Upwind

Leader stretching on all but New Wave. The boats on the right got lifted quite better than the boats above them. The course was also skewed, making the right even a bit stronger. There was even a bit of right shift on the way to the mark.

New Wave is the only one keeping the DTL stable, overall losing less than others to the leader.
Leeward boats much more lifted on the way to the right. Very green top mark approach.

Clean Data, no tacks and gybes

2nd Downwind

Pretty big loss for Gamecock on the left corner. All the boats gained a lot to it. Defiant even took the lead, but the finish line (if it was the same as the start line) was biased.

Gamecock much higher than others. Vigilant with a pretty fast finish.
