    Race Area

    Start

Some 20m of bias, favoring the RC. Still, all 3 RC boats had a bad start, so pin boats ended up ahead, even though they were further away from the line.

All very close. Racesense gets it better than the app, since they use high frequency to make a call and have the boat shape and Vakaros position calculated. (here Vakaros in mid boat). Happy and Tyra popped out the best.

    1st Upwind

Some shifts to be played and the boats that took them the best ended up ahead. Sail Racer tacked when sailing low, took that left shift and connected it to the right one, gaining the most. Still, their high angles can also be helped by their performance, always looking like they can sail hgher than the rest. On the other side, Happy often struggles with their angle. This time they have ignored the fact that they suddenly go low and have lost a lot. Tyra had solid leg, but had to sail against the right shift for a while on the way to the mark. Spika recovered great, using the right shift and then the last lefty just before the mark.

    Top Mark

Boats ahead had easier time, no need to bear away to anyone.

    1st Downwind

Three boats in the back were gaining. Happy gained the most by gybesetting and then getting nice right pressure. SailRacer ended up in the middle, losing from both sides.

    1. Happy gaining
    2. Boats in the middle losing after an early gybe
    3. Right shift made it easier for left boats to get to the marks at the end

    Gate Rounding

A boat length of bias means 2 lengths of more sailing in the wind direction. Already enough to have the boats doing the right turn gaining. Tyra was the only one there with bad rounding, coming high to the mark, so they didn’t benefit that much, but also didn’t lose.

    2nd Upwind

Pretty messy leg with different wind all around the place. Happy ended up with the shortest time, due to big lift on the way to the right side. They sailed against that shift for a while after the tack, losing, but later on the right wind came and gave them some help again. Tyra managed to connect left to right shift, too. Right shift at the end pushed Spika and Sail Racer quite over the layline. Liquid sun had solid lift on starboard after the mark rounding, but later were sailing against the other shifts.

    1. Happy’s big gain
    2. Right wind in the 2nd half of the leg

    2nd Downwind

Skewed course with the right wind. Tyra, ahead had the easiest time, going faster. The rest had very similar times, except Spika who got the wind shifting a bit back and a longer way to sail in the 2nd part.
