Start

All the boats very close to the line. I have used the pings that put you all behind, some were having some boats OCS. Probably due to conservative pinging.

6 degrees of bias to RC. Is a good number, since then gain is exactly 10% of the line length. 32m is big enough that it has to be taken. Pericolosa took it and was in the lead from the gun.

1st Upwind

Prettuy much the starting order defined the upwind. There was some right wind at the 1st third of the leg, going back left later closer to the mark. Which suited boats going left better.

Numbers are upwind meters in tacks done between -5 to +15 seconds of head to wind. Higher is better.

Time to leader and distance to leader. Stella gaining some meters on starboard tack before the mark.

Behind maneuver number is cumulative loss in maneuvers

Heel travel can only be compared between the boats that use the same device (La pericolosa and Adrenaline). Every device smoothens the accelerator differently.

Red points popping up at the top inside. La pericolosa was the highest on both tacks. The higher up the screen, the better the VMG.

  1. Nice rightie for left boats
  2. Early tacking boats struggled
  3. Left shift on the top. Port tack boats lifted.

Suggested wind direction, based on tracks of all boats

Clean upwind sailing, no maneuvers and first/last 100m. Sorted by VMG. Stella spent almost a minute less in straight line sailing since they did many more tacks.

Top Mark

All starboard boats probably some meters over the layline. Allowing Stella to have the fastest 100m to and from the mark, even with two extra maneuvers.

Stella took 1:37 to do the rounding 100m to and from. Adrenaline the slowest with 1:44

Stella gaining on TTL. DTL has the effect of downwind boats stretching. TTL is in this case better value.

1st Downwind

Leaders extending. Shotgunn coming close to La Pericolosa, but gybed a touch too late. Adrenaline missed the layline by a lot. Stella was slow after the gybe set, but then was gaining on all. Had very bad gybe and lost a lot there. Adrenaline did 110 downwind meters in gybe, Stell only 81 in the same 20 seconds.

Adrenaline probably luffing with someone after the hoist, getting red. Stella red for a long time after both gybes.

  1. Adrenaline dropping early under the layline
  2. Stella with the best VMG for a while on the right side of the course.

Gate Rounding

Left turn favored approx 12m, so boats doing the right needed to do 24m upwind sailing. La Pericolosa giving Shotgunn quite a distance after the rounding. Stella continued too far under the gate, and Adrenaline lost due to layline miss. Big differences in time needed to round.

La pericolosa 12s faster than the 2nd best. Stella had the best average VMG, but sailed 50m more upwind distance than La pericolosa.

2nd Upwind

La Pericolosa increasing the lead. The only boat to sail high on port tack. All the others got quite a right shift on the way to the mark. Then again just before the mark a leftie, so also the right layline was against the shift.

Adrenaline sailed similar lanes like Shotgunn, but has gained quite some on them.

  1. BIg rightie on the way to the mark for 3 boats
  2. Left shift causing loss on the right layline

No maneuvers and roundings data

2nd Downwind

No big changes. Gybing DW meters can have big differences. Good gybes are great opportunity to gain.

La Pericolosa hitting almost 20 knots of speed on Starboard, more than 16kts VMG.
