Heel Travel

Back To All Values

Heel travel represents the change in heel value over time, measured in degrees per minute.

Higher heel travel → Indicates more sideways instability.

Lower heel travel → Suggests a steadier boat.

Comparing Heel Travel Across Devices

Since different devices use different heel damping algorithms, heel travel values should only be compared when using:

✔️ The same type of device

✔️ The same logging frequency

Logs recorded at a higher frequency will capture more movement, resulting in a higher heel travel value than those recorded at a lower frequency.
