Start
Some boats very close to the line. Small pin bias. Grinn free and increasing the lead. Nika sailed very high, kicking out a few boats in the back.
1st Upwind
The low lane to the left didn’t work. The boats above were gaining. Sentinel also looked good initially but crossed to the left side a bit too late. Many boats ended up over the left layline by a significant amount of meters. Kuai took the lead with a high lane to the left side.
Top Mark
Kuai was even a touch over the layline. Good mark approach for the boats just under them
1st Downwind
With the apparent wind angles of approx 85-90 and apparent wind speed of 3.5 knots (I guessed the wind speed at 6 knots), it looks like the leader has a hard time executing a good gybe. Probably a slowdown, which brings them into the wind shadow which might be traveling a bit faster than the boats are. So Kuai was already a few times losing a lot more on the first gybe than the boats behind. All the boats in the back suffer less and less at the 1st gybe, being more clean.
Gate Rounding
A solid 15m of gate bias. Creating big changes in DTL
2nd Upwind
Fleet compression with right side gaining. MSun ignored a header on the left, sailing for too long in the negative shift.
MSun had some sharp bear away approaching the top mark. Lost quite some meters and the lead, too.
2nd Downwind
Right shift and finish line on the right of the RC causing a lot of skewedness. Even before the top mark it is good to say that the last downwind goes more right and gybe needs to be done sooner. Most of boats missing the layline.
