The app can present start line data and have it also on the GPS track.
Start Line Fields
Line Dist At Gun -> Distance to the start line at the gun. Negative values mean that the boat was over the line.
Line Time -> time when the boat crosses the line. Positive numbers are after the gun, and negative before
Pos At Start -> Position where the line was crossed. 0% would be at the RC and 100% at the pin end
Bias Used -> how much of possible bias was used when crossing the line
DT Lead -> upwind distance to leader at the gun and at the time set
SOG gun -> speed over ground at the gun
Adding the Start Line Data
Already included in log files
Start line data is automatically added from Vakaros .vkx and Velocitek .vtk files. The start line is also included in SailViewer cut race logs if a start line was set when the race was cut.
Pinged by the free Sail Logger App
The free Sail Logger app has start-line pinging available. Just click on the “Mark Now” button when at any of the start line ends or when the start signal is given. The location and time are recorded when the “Mark Now” button is clicked. Sail Logger is available for both Android and iOS.
All the logged events can be shared from the Sail Logger app straight into the SailViewer app
Using the QR code
To import the QR codes in SailViewer, Go to Menu/Events/Read QR
Export the File and send it to SailViewer
In the Sail Logger Share dialog, choose the Share button. The file will be created that can be imported into the SailViewer by Import button

Click on “Copy to Clipboard” button and events text will be copied to clipboard in the form that can be loaded by
Set Line Manually by entering the coordinates
The new event dialog allows you to set the coordinates manually. In the dropdown menu, choose between the port side and starboard side.
Set Line At Path Screen and Graph Screen
Start Ends can be added manually at any point on the Path Screen. Just long-press on the position and choose Mark. Then, decide between the Set RC and Set Pin options. The time of the event is set as the current selection start slider time.
Start time can be added at any point on the Graph Screen by long clicking on it and selecting “New Event”. Then in New Event dialog the time will be set at the position clicked on the graph, location is anyway ignored, and from the dropdown menu, select “Start Time” as the event type. You can always choose that time is also at the exact point of one of the time sliders.
Create Custom Event
You can create any start-line events from the New Event dialog. You can also choose to have it at a certain boat’s position or at a certain time set by slider or manually. This is useful if you have the log of one of the line ends imported into the SailViewer. It is also possible to enter the start line coordinates manually in the New Event Dialog. If you want to quickly add start time, just move one of the time sliders to it and choose the Selection Start Time or Selection End TIme option.
Using the Start Data Events
To use the actual start data event, in the events list, press “Use” button next to it.
You can select the event by long pressing on the Path Screen on it or at the Graph screen on it and choose Event Details option. The nearest event will be selected on the Events list dialog.
Used start line ends are marked as filled green and red boats. Unused ones are marked as red and green circles on Path screen or empty boats on Graph Screen. Used start time is in black color, while unused ones are grey.
To know easier which event in the list you have selected, as you click on it in list, it will become cyan colored. It will also get the same color circle on the path screen and the vertical line at the graph will also be cyan. This doesn’t mean that that event is being in Use, just helps locating it. To bring it in use, click on its use button.
Once the line ends and time are used, You can see all the relevant start data in Start Line screen. Also, new values of Distance to Start line and Time to Kill are available.
Interval Points
The Time interval points can be set in Start Line Options dialog. On Start Line screen, long press and choose Options. You can show or hide the points and also change their interval.
