Logs can be filtered so that only part of data matching the filters is used in calculations and is shown on windows.
Fixed filter types:
- Legs – filter only upwind or downwind legs
- Tacks – filter only port or starboard tack
- Maneuvers – remove maneuvers or show only maneuvers
- Roundings – remove mark roundings where the upwind distance to the rounding is less than entered distance. Or keep roundings only.
All of the fixed types can be used at the same time, for example upwind legs without the maneuvers.
Free filter
Apart from or together with the fixed filters, one free filter can be used. Based on any value, it is possible to filter that value when higher or lower than:
- Log Average – an average of the whole log
- Selection Average – an average of the selection of the log
- Fixed Number – any other manually entered number
- All other logs – the value is higher than any other log. This also creates a Rank for that value, so you can see the ranking of the boats for this value.
Choose the value by clicking on the value Button.
All calculations, graphs, and screens, except the “Race” window, use only the filtered data to calculate and present it.
Pure Sailing Filter Example
Only clean upwind sailing from the time range by selecting: “only upwind leg” + “remove maneuvers” + “VMG > fixed value” a bit under the usual VMG for the conditions. This leaves pure sailing and it is possible to get the data for only those periods in a quick way.
