Start
Both BLUS and ATHP were closest to the line and also had the highest speeds at the gun with 14 and 16 kts of speed. It allowed them to pop in front of the fleet. The slowest at the start were LVOC and LADY with speeds of around 8kts.
TOROA And TMPR were quite behind the line at around 30m of distance to it, but TMPR managed to get up to speed very quickly, reaching 18kts after only 10 seconds and becoming the only boat doing more than 20kts of speed.
1st Downwind
TMPR managed to go through the fleet and has quickly arrived even to the 2nd place. The leading ENMO stretched away.
However, due to the very right wind direction, top boats missed the layline and suffered significant losses, especially to LVOC and TOROA who nailed the layline with early gybe, cutting the upwind distance to the leaders from 400 to 200m.
LW gate
TOROA had some struggles at the gate and has dropped two places at rounding.
2nd upwind
It was another typical just go left upwind. It became even more important to tack soon since the skewed course and right-side wind made the leg only go one way.
WW Gate
The left mark was 40m to leeward of the right-hand one. This allowed ATHP and TOROA to make significant gains on the upwind distance to the leader. But since the downwind was going only one way, they ended up under the layline and could not capitalize on it.
2nd downwind
2nd Downwind was again straight line to the gate marks, except for Lady, as the wind started to shift more to the left. TMPR was the fastest at some points, reaching the speed of 28.9kts.
2nd LW gate
The first few boats still rounded and tacked onto starboard with the wind in 230 direction. Quite soon, the wind has filled up from the direction of 205. LADY went around other gate mark and has gained quite a lot due to that wind shift. LVOC had a horrible time, sailing against both shifts and losing hundreds of meters.
2nd Upwind
With the wind going left it became typical go-left Garda leg. So the leeward boats were extending and gaining to the windward ones on the way to the left side with team LADY gaining 3 positions by taking the other gate mark and shooting left.
