Start and 1st up
At the start the wind was hard left, all the way to 248. In the shifty conditions, this means that to be able to sail in a good phase, you have to start on port and use it from the beginning. Nefeli did this and had an easy time to pick up all the next shifts.
Melgina could no longer take the shifts as they come. My guess is probably due to other boats in front crossing, making it impossible to get a clear lane.
1st downwind
Quite a large gain by Melgina, getting at one point up to 12-14 knots of speed, almost dead down to the mark direction. They have cut the distance from 500m to 150m at the point Nefeli has rounded the gate.
Nefeli took slightly better gate mark.
2nd upwind
Nefeli went into the right wind and took big shift. Took it all the way left and there picked up some more good shifts. Melgina also did a good job at 1st half of the upwind, but had a hard time with many small shifts while approaching the top mark.
2nd downwind
big right shift made the last downwind pretty skewed. A lot of sailing on port tack and just a few gybes at the end to cross the line. The last two gybes of Nefeli were sailed with pretty high angles, but bringing the speed to almost 12kts.
